New pads and discs all round nothing fancy just as near to OEM as possible, with new shoes fitted to fix the handbrake?

What would an indie charge rough ballpark?

£500?

Standard stuff at decent indy should be no more than £350 all done & dusted
Or go for the drilled/grooved look http://www.mtecbrakes.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=7_12_83_92
& ask the indy for labour only price to fit them

Meyle are an OEM quality supplier to BMW for brake discs. This link is NOT, I repeat NOT the ones you need, but as you can see you can pick up all the parts for a maximum of £200.

Mintex pads sometimes squeal a bit, but have this combo, abiet I have upgraded E46 325mm rotors on the front of mine I otherwise have no complaints.

You'll find the brake shoes should have hardly any wear - well that's what my indy said @ 50k miles so he just cleaned & refitted the old ones. If you can get to Dartford & leave the car, I'll give u the name of my Indy

I got a full set of Textar ePads from eurocarparts for about £96. Great pads, very little dust and no noise

No idea about discs though I'm afraid.

No, 'just' the local garage.

That's a bit steep. Least next time you'll know who to ask for price guidance or maybe worth finding another performance specialist.

Hmmm food for thought, I have already bought my front discs and pads (Brembo) so the indie will be fitting these and supplying the rear disc and pads and shoes (car has done 106K).

Getting it done on Thursday, will let you know how it goes.

Came to £457 in the end. I supplied the front discs and pads, they supplied the rear discs and pads, brake shoes and sensors.

i could have sourced the parts for £100 less than they did, so lesson learnt there.

Also did a clutch delay valve delete and fitted a bit of trim, and well much better than the £800+ quote that BMW gave me.
