How much for Elipsoid Alloys ?

If i was to sell a set of 18" Elipsoid Alloys how much could I expect to achieve ?

I'm thinking up changing and new to work the re-sale price into my budget.

All rims are perfect and tyres have approx 5mm left.

I would say £400 - £500.

I bought a new set from the dealers for £900 when I had my previous Z, so 50% seems a good value.

I'd actually nudge even higher than pvr as there is always a line of people after these, especially if no costly refurb is needed. I sold my set 2 years back, rims only for £400. With good tyres then I'd be targetting £500 to £600. Think of £100 per rim and £25-£50 per tyre.

Bottom line is it all depends on who happens to be looking, how much they want them and how quick you need to sell.

I wouldnt sell mine for less than £550.

They're rare and people are always on here looking for them...

Obviously it all depends on what someone is willing to pay for them though.

They will add tyres at competitive prices too, and delivery was cheap or free iirc. They will offer new bolts/caps too at BMW prices iirc...


I spent £40 fuel travelling and a full day to go pick up 4x Ellipsoids with old RFT Bridgestones for £200, then another £260 getting them reconditioned (included new tyre fitting), but I had to order/deliver tyres and then go take wheels to recon place too.

All in, about £500 in time/hassle, and the recon is 'good enough' but think £350 to get them done in wet paint, so another £100)

£200-300 extra to get them brand spanking new with no worries about dinks or bad kerbing etc, and fresh to fit new tyres of your choice... kinda wish I'd gone that route now.


So, unless you can find MINT ones (and I mean perfect original), for about £450-500, then I'd just buy brand new. In the long run it'll save lots of hassle. Just make sure you don't kerb them!
