how much for a clutch ?

Because BMW put a bit of rubber between two flywheels to take up the shock of dropping the clutch (mainly because the americans can’t drive a manual car ) and this then wears out! :roll:

Ah, and there was me thinking it meant you had to go to communion twice on a Sunday before you could change gear

Roadwarrior have a read of this https://www.theengineer.co.uk/dual-mass-flywheel/ you can fit a single mass flywheel as the race guys do but it will get noisy and a lot more vibration and stress on the gearbox. Pays your money takes your choice I guess?

I ran a modified Alfa gt TD with a single mass flywheel in place of the dual mass. Barely any difference in vibration, if any it was at pulling away in 1st. To be fair I might not if noticed it as it was basically a tractor in drag!
However when it comes to changing the clutch on the zed I will definitely be considering single mass again.
Hasn't machine monkey installed a single mass??
