How much do you trust...

It's the first car I've had which when you are stationary on an incline and apply the foot brake, when you pull away the brakes are locked for a couple of seconds. Meaning you don't have to worry about the handbrake.

It's brilliant.

But how much do you trust it?

If you are on a really steep hill and someone has stopped inches behind you, is it trustworthy?

Potentially stupid question here but do all Z4's have this??

Not something I have ever noticed on mine, but then i've always pulled away while disengaging the brake so I don't roll backwards because I didn't realise this was a thing!

My 2003 Z is an auto and you don't even need the brake. After stopping, the car holds you and when ready to go you just press the accelerator. No need for handbrake or footbrake. Not sure if all automatics are like this?

Too busy going forward :driving: great when you find your car has a useful feature you didn't even know of

My 2005 didn`t have it.
I now have it on my 2008 Z4, I didn`t exactly knew that there was an official name for it.
But i love it

I'm truly amazed . . . . . :o :o :o :o

Are you sure all facelifts have it? :?

Ooooerr - My handbrake/clutch control may not be as impeccable as I thought it was then

:driving:

Hill start assist drives me nuts. Makes reversing down a slight incline out of the Garage a total pain in the backside.

Does anybody know how it works ?
is there an incline sensor or something like that in the car ?

It's awesome going up ferry ramps.

I trust it - I just don't trust myself to remember it's not there when driving other cars. :?
