I recently bought my z4 because it had loads of options. I came across UK Z4 pre- and post-facelift specifications topic and i calculated the original RRP of my car when new. it was a staggering £38,525. obviously no-one pays the RRP on a new car but having no experience buying new car i was wondering what everyone thought a reasonable discount % was.

All prices are RRP from the brochure
•2007 (57) Z4 Coupe 3.0SI Sport £33,625
•Automatic with paddle shift £1,525
•Carbon Black £745
•Piano Black interior £355
•BMW Professional Satellite Navigation £1,495
•Bluetooth Phone Preparation £390
•Comfort pack £330
•Xenon headlights £415

The most staggering thing I find about this thread is the prices of the options. The prices are obviously from around 2006 if not earlier and if you go to spec a BMW now the same options cost more or less exactly the same with the exception of the xenons. Things like automatic boxes and sat nav should, in my opinion be much, much cheaper now. Especially since most new BMWs already have a screen/iDrive thingy anyway. At least bluetooth is standard now I suppose.

I got the BOS / Invoice with mine when I bought it. Its an EX BMW CAR being a YC07 reg, but as a 3.0 Si with Individual Amarone leather interior, Piano Black Trim, Hard Top, 18 inch 108's, silly lip spoiler thing and that was approx £36k (Invoice is at home and I am in the office).

Shame they didn't spec a decent stereo and xenon's though.

Cheer thats good to know. I don't think at the moment anything would convince me to buy a new car if i know the depreciation is going to be 5k average for the next 5 years.

Must work harder, must work harder....just read the topic on the bmw 4 series...z4 update coming soon....much work harder at life...

Worked mine out at £40k OTR price when new - Named Luton on my spreadsheet.

and guys close but just out. My official title is Customer Service Centre Supervisor / Business Analyst, although I was doing a lot of product manager workload also..

i bought mine as the new z4 was being launched so it was very heavily discounted, mine is 1 of the last coupes
