How much do you guys pay for insurance

£251 fully comp with L&G. 69 year old male plus wife, living in Cambridgeshire, car kept in driveway. No NCD, because that's on my other car. IIRC I estimated 8k miles per year, which seems generous as I split my driving between two cars.

When I bought the Z4 about three months ago, I was worried that I'd pay a fortune for a second policy because my NCD stays with the other car. So I explored multi-car policies. But my current insurer (LV) doesn't do multi-car, so it was complicated. In the end I was pleasantly surprised to get a single-car quote for the price of three tanks of petrol :D

^is right. I've had a claim with Admiral and it was OK. So far mine seems to be the cheapest...
Proper body shop and Bmw parts ?
Well, it was a claim on the Land Rover not the BMW (Multicar policy) but fair question, yes - genuine LR parts and an LR approved bodyshop with an LR-underwritten repair warranty. We also got a top quality hire car.

So far so good, I'd say.

Indeed I do.. The car has been wonderful on the Motorway, in traffic jams, there is the TV. Hi-Fi is good enough, but the best bit is knocking the selector to the right and moving to sport+. pop bang!

It's a minefield !

You're definitely right about that! There are some here that seem to pay almost nothing, and some (myself included, even with 4-5+ years NCD) that seem to be basically paying for car parts that we never damaged.
