Hi Guys

Am looking for Clear Non-Xexon facelift lights? now I do not mind waiting to pick the odd one up now and again , lovely to get a pair but unlikely :tumbleweed:

So just wanted to get an idea for what these go for ??? e.g via fleebay / breakers etc

I'm I right in thinking there is clear , and then chrome clear later on???

I have been reading a few threads on thoses ebay lights I think they look great but concerned on qualily so thinking OEM instead. Unless people have been flocking to them since the last major thread on this matter.

Appericate the help as always

Thanks Paza

I am also on the lookout for a set of clears. I have read previous posts on here about doing the Xenon to non-Xenon conversion and someone mentioned they got a set of non-Xenon clears for £100 and somebody else said they paid £200 for a non-Xenon set.

Obviously prices will vary (especially on Ebay) but this gives a rough idea on what they have gone for in the past.

I think the chrome clear lights were fitted on 3.0 models and black clear on all other models (somebody please correct me if I am wrong!).

I was in the same boat with my dated ambers

Had to play the waiting game and picked up some chrome clears on eBay. If memory serves right for a little over £230

As you mentioned your best option is to trawl through eBay and gumtree as most breakers seemed to have warmed to these sites in recent years - good luck with the search

I paid about about £350 for a an immaculate pair earlier in the year, offset somewhat by me being able to sell my original ones.
People have paid as little as £50 a light for lightly damaged lights, at the end of the day they are worth what you are prepared to pay for them, they were about £350 per light from a dealer and judging by the way BMW seem to have inflated the price on other items lately they could easily be significantly more now.

Exactly right.

I have some clear pre facelift headlights boxed up somewhere that I had on my 3.0 roadster before selling. It took me a while to source them from eBay about 2 years ago.

Happy to sell on to forum member if there is interest. Would only be interested in covering the price I paid, will have to recheck my eBay history

Paza Im also doing the up-grade accept Im going down the xenon route. Ive managed to source a clear driver side xenon pre facelift (£350) :( ! just got the boring task of now trying to source the passenger side which Ive been told are rare as rockin horse s**t
Sounds like wantanM might have what you need

It depends how long you wait. I got one non-xenon clear for £110 on ebay. 3 months later i was really struggling to find a matching pair, i ended up paying £200 (posted) from a forum member to complete my set.

Remember the original tango lights still make good money on ebay, so even if you have to pay big money for clears, you should still get at least half of that back selling your old ones.

Guys

Thanks for all your posts ,

I Have been away for a few days so only just seen the posts.

wantanM you have pm

Just to give you an idea a pair of clear xenon is around £1300 from the dealers, plus of course bulbs ballast ad igniter. Halogen around £600

Hi Cj thanks for the info , I have given up on the idea of xenons, mainly down to costs you looking at almost 10% of the cars value for second hands ones so going to pass on them now.

I am a bit gutted really as the car when I bought it was advertised as having them, and when buying the car did not notice they were not, it did have self level , headlamp washers etc but they are not so a bit gutted. Its a private sale so stand no come back... :x , but thats the only problem everything else is spotless so never mind :)

All this reading of clear fronts is setting the scene for my first project :)

I've had a few PMs since posting this and replied to all in same way

I'll dig them out and see what's what then post something with the details on Monday or Tuesday. They might not be suitable for everyone.

Cheers
Brendan

If you don't care about the reflectors being slightly wrong (beam will go askew and you'll have to adjust the headlamps er light beam quite a lot), then you can try from US ebay. Most of the clear lights run around $350-450, or you could get lucky like me and find one for $200!!!
