I had my emissions light as well as other warning lights come on just before my battery died on me.I had my emissions light,which the code was saying that the CAT was the problem (on a car that has only done 19,000 miles) and others reset after the new battery and it's been ok since,passed an MOT after as well.
Maybe your battery is on it's way out.A drop in voltage/amps can make fault lights come on from my experience anyway.
