How many people come back to Z4M's after moving on?

I was just (hypothetically) pondering if i could acquire another Z4MC for track use. Whilst i have no actual plans to do so currently - i have to pay for a wedding or something important, it did get me wondering.

How many of you who have sold up, moved to another marque have eventually ended up coming back and owning a Z4M again?

What car did you go to, and what caused you to want to come back?

Not everyone gets to choose their perfect M the first time round - so do you tend to try another spec? or have different requirements?

Given the choice - i'd be buying exactly the same thing again, Imola M Coupe. I was fortunate enough to find what i wanted the first time round i guess.

I'll swap you for the V12S
Sure - right around the time it's due a service work for you? I think it's due new tyres and tax then too. lets say.. 1 month swap?

Ha, what's the expected cost of the service on that bad boy? I had a DBS for 6 months from work but never had to pay for the service thankfully.....truly epic engine.

I was the other way round, sold my S2000, bought a Z4M then bought my old S2000 back after 2 years or so. It wasn't all bad, made about £3k on it :D

servicing is thankfully not too bad, around a grand a year. tyres are obscene though. 600bhp rwd and 400 per rear.

still - cheaper than when my z4 broke :D

then on to the e89?

i guess it’s easy to miss the high rpm of an s2000. thats something that makes me think 911 gt3 would be a good proposition, 997 ones seem to hold their value these days.

Yeap, change of circumstances meant the S2000 had to go as I needed a folding hardtop rather than a soft top. Plus I was starting to use my weekender for longer distances, which the S2000 was really tiring at.

The E89 has far exceeded my expectations so far, I was expecting a GT car, but with a few minor tweaks it's far more capable than I thought it would be (on the road, I'm sure it would fall apart on track) whereas the Z4M was flawed and not nearly as good as the sum of its parts, it did sound epic though! Had I not had the S2000 before it, I think I'd of been happy enough with it.

Well, the hunger started from the 'loss' (Sale) of my new Q5 after 3 years (Dieselgate). Depression led me to the 2.5Si... Stunning.
Moved on to the A5 to accommodate family - Boring.
Went to a 2010 Carerra S - Exciting but too showy (Wife hated it) so back now to an M + a sensible 2.0 daily.

Something about an M.....
