How many miles do you get to a tank?

Not if I start with a full tank and we go less than 300 miles!!

In my e85 3.0l using SUL my trip computer tells me it's just under 390 miles on a fresh tankful (in commuting mode). This mode is mostly a fairly steady 50ish mph over 35 miles daily drive.
If Im in 'enjoying the drive' mode, trip computer reckons nearer 325 miles on a tank. Not bad at all, I'm thinking.

The return leg then :P
Rob

Well if it was a 200/250 mile trip we would both fill up once wouldn't we!? :P

And on a longer motorway trip I get nearer 350 miles anyway!

(Could always cheat and use my 4 seat Z4 (a 325ti) as it has a 63 litre tank so can easily do more than 400 miles and shares its engine with a pre-facelift 2.5 Z4). :P

Filled my 3.5i up the other day and it said 285 till next fill up. Not bad at all for the engine size and power of the car. I'm pretty sure my old 3.0 E85 did very similar miles per tank full but was no where near as quick and the E85 was a lot lighter too. Both took around £55 to fill to the brim with shell optimax. Never really get my cars low on fuel, fill up more or less when fuel light comes on which I think is when around 40 miles left in tank

Believe it or not I had it up to 120 on the bypass whilst racing with a chap in his Fiat 500 Abarth,
:driving:

Best not shout about 120 and Racing on an open forum !
You never know who's reading do you ?

My 35iS is telling me around 300 to the tank with me chickening out at 16 miles left this week. Average of 25 mpg over last 3k miles

My 28i used to get around 360 per tank with an average of 30mpg over 23k miles

It's not that I hate the greater fuel usage more the lack of miles between fill ups. Would be better with a slightly larger tank on the 35iS so I didn't have to see the fuel pump quite so often.

I don't regret the extra OOmph under the pedal though ;-)

And oddly my sig says only 20mpg for the 35is yet online says 25.1 for some reason.

I think you have it set to USA Gallon which is smaller than UK Gallon.

Model: 35is
Miles: 180ish (300 if purely motorway trip)
Fuel: Standard Unleaded
Type of driving: A/B roads. Short commutes. Sport mode and sport transmission always. Very heavy right foot! [/b]

But 120 is only about 75mph. That said, it is fast for an old boy with slow reactions like Chris :poke:
