I'm still enjoying the hell outa my e85 bought for £3495 in spring with 12 months mot and it was the best car I have ever had!! Changed a few things on it now from rear high level brake light to starter motor and a few other bits but I still love it to bits..ok it only does 34 on a run but hey it's a straight six 2.5l engine.. and it isn't a cat write off either.. been smiling all summer!!

Think you could be running the cheapest Z on the forum & hat's off to you just shows that a good car doesn't have to cost silly money

I have an E89. I understand that's not classed as a proper Z4...

Now I'm new to the forum and have only had my BMW for 4 weeks (my first one). I'm sure my question has played out before but why isn't the E89 a "proper" Z4?

It is, it's just most of us can't afford one yet lol

There was an element of sarcasm in the post you're quoting JH. Some of us much prefer the E85/6 to E89. Others disagree. Horses for courses I suppose.

Guilty as well. Must admit I haven't been on the forum in a while. We have been busy moving from Germany back to Washington State. Have also been picking out new flooring for the house.

Been super happy with our new GLK250 diesel. Went from Kaiserslautern, over the Grossglockner high Alpine road to Bled Slovenia. Then on to Rovinj Croatia & return. Averaged 36 miles per US gallon over the 1800 mile trip. Now if only the Merc & the Seven would get to the port of Seattle some time before the next century. I'm quite tired of the KIA soul hire car. Of course driving the KIA beats walking in the 107 F heat we were having when we arrived. I thought I might burst into flames.
