Yep Ins2 means new plugs in , , assuming you had it done after your purchase can you remember the car being the same slow starting up prior to that service ?
 
I drove it once pre service, so don't remember unfortunately :headbang:

Will try pausing at the second turn, to see if it makes a difference.

The fact a warm start is much quicker than a cold one suggests battery to me, despite it not sounding strained.

Any idea if I can test battery via the under bonnet jump start location?

My 3.0si was a little similar on an old battery. Albeit a cheaper battery to replace!

Original battery, kept on a conditioner, alongside aircon transport mode on test drive all indicate a battery weaker than ideal from my understanding.
 
I have noticed mine has been doing this recently, well about 1/2 turns less then the video, did a quick search and the cause could be down to a dirty MAF?

I sometimes get a lumpy idle straight after too, when it's warm fires up straight away.
 
Just tested the battery after driving home & voltage is 12.48 so all good. Will test again in the morning after it has been resting.

Given its just had an Insp2 I would have hoped the MAF was checked, but perhaps not!

Thanks - saves me reading further. Although my 28.8mpg would suggest MAF is alright too.

Just put new cross brace bolts in this evening, so hoping this is the dash rattle cured!

If so, just the wind noise from drivers windo left to sort - love getting all the little things worked through after buying a new car, makes it mine & enjoy the process.
 
I changed my spark plugs a couple of weeks ago and after doing so it started just by looking at the key. Sadly it's gone back to needing a few more cranks again though I can't say I've ever thought it to be excessive.

I did notice though, that when I was using it daily it started much quicker than when it's left a while between uses.
 
Mine is a daily drive & inspection 2 was done 500 miles ago.

Although they also test the battery too, so Lord knows if they did either!

Ps used my ///M today, first time in a week and it fired straight away, maybe it's just one of those things if it takes a few cranks? :? :driving:

Eagerly awaiting tomorrow morning to pop out & check the battery after a long rest.

Almost hoping it is going to show a low voltage as saves me researching too much - but like having a common cold, googling the symptoms & diagnosing legionaries disease or similar!
 
Mine sat in the garage for 6 months (albeit on the trickle charger). I took it for it's MOT last week and it started instantly, no perceptible cranking at all !
I guess there are loads of factors that could influence slow starting but I wouldn't think a couple of cranks is excessive.

Wife would go mental if I had 2 wheel types, plus the planned winter wheels as it is my daily drive!
 
12.15v after leaving it overnight, which is about 33% charge state. New one fitted, so we will see when I next started.

Removed & replaced all the cross brace bolts, but the damned rattle is still there in the dash :headbang:

BMW are removing the vent on the 18th, so will peer in afterwards to see if there is anything rubbing / not connected correctly.
 
I'm not surprised about the bolts, if they were tight I couldn't see how they could be rattling.
