I failed it five times, passed the sixth.


looking back it was fair, I might have had competence but
i was too impatient to be allowed on a highway unsupervised.

Anyway, was anyone else as bad as me?
 
Six times, impressive. :)

First time pass for me but looking back I couldn't drive properly and shouldn't have passed. Mind you given some of the driving you see on the roads every day i wouldn't give a pass to half the muppets driving around today.

My daughter told me about a friend of hers who just passed on his Eighth attempt! :o

I'll be wrapping pillows around #69 if he brings a car anywhere near our house...
 
One, failed first time on reversing in my MG Midget, went up the pavement !

Then passed a month later in my sisters Volvo :driving: :driving:
 
The Mrs tells me I am being revisionist.
Apparently I passed on my seventh attempt. :)

Oh well, it looks like I am not going to be outdone.

Ok, ok, I didn't read the poll question correctly :oops: but I'm going to blame you for that. :nahnah:

So my vote for 1 fail should now be no fails. Passed first time, as all the best drivers do. :poke:
 
Turned away from one (not enough examiners apparently)
Failed one
Was failed by the chief examiner on another
Passed by the lady examiner :thumbsup:
 
First time for me, nearest roundabout was 40 miles away so just the one set of traffic lights to have to cope with :driving:
 
I passed my test in Forfar, which used to have the highest pass rate in the UK, 76% ish - until they closed the test centre. 2 mini roundabouts in town and 2 sets of traffic lights :lol:

Must be trickier to pass your test in London - the lowest pass rate was a test centre with 22% pass rate :o

Second time for me. I maintain that squeezing my between a row of parked cars and an oncoming lorry was down to skill and spacial awareness.

Past first time much to my surprise. Examiner I had was well known for being tough and failing people. However this Thursday afternoon he got and proceed to clean his teeth with a tooth pick.

Performed the emergency stop, after which I tried to start the car thinking I had stalled it, I hadnt. :oops:

I'm also sure I ran over a very low curb on the near side whilst turning left.

When we got back to the test centre he asked me a number of questions (this was 22 years ago). I got my breaking distance wrong first time, and also got some other questions wrong. He stated that I used a wrong gera coming down a hill, and forgot to look over my shoulder when doing a three point turn. I'm thinking the worst but then he says I've passed :o

Can't explain it, maybe it was quotas, maybe confidence but one things for sure I'm glad I didn't have to do it again. :D
