No brand loyalty, but when I wanted a diesel commuter truck I found that the E46 320d offered the best balance of performance and economy of the cars in my price range. It actually handles surprisingly well and has lots mid range torque, making it a pleasure to drive. I secretly wish I'd bought a 330d M sport though
