How low can you make a Z without seedbump issues?

Im currently using the 35mm on the eibach pro springs, 18" alloys and i have the bilstein sport shocks so i cant adjust my ride heightl

I would like a slightly 'meaner' look to my car, so my thoughts sway towards a 60-70mm drop, spacers and angel eye headlights.

So information would be appreciated about how low i can go without making general driving an issue, how wide i can take my wheels before more issues occur and of course any pictures :thumbsup:

At the moment i have no issues when it comes to ride height, the bilsteins give me a great ride and the wheels sit nicely in the arch's, but i would like to sit my baby on her arse and spread them tyres 'within reason'!

I have been owned by some ridiculously big humps, but generally the little flaps we have in front of the rear arch scrap over most things as they hang low.
Mine sits about 8-9cm off the floor to side skirt so very low but rides good, handles very good and looks sexy.

Even on stock suspension and wheels I always take my time over humps and bumps
 
I really want to lower mine but at standard height I scrape on every journey due to speed bumps and the ramp into the work car park is very steep :-(
 
Almost beached mine on a few around Waterloo. Not really sure how much lower mine is compared to factory though, but KW state a max drop of 50mm on the front
 
Mine is about the same as Adamski's, maybe a little less. I go reeeeeeaaaaallly slow. It's the narrow speed bumps that are the worst where the front wheels go over before the back wheels are up. Closely followed by the square ones that in a normal car you'd straddle with the wheels, but in the Z you actually have to put two wheels over. Finally the flappy non-speedbump metal bastards in car parks to stop you going the wrong way. They're horrible. Little 3 inch wide ones in a Lakeside car park scratched the bottom edge of my side skirt :x

I don't have too many problems tbh, but as said the rubber deflectors in front of the wheels scrape on almost anything. Just need to take care.

This is just what i want to read the night before i fit my springs in the morning. My work car park has about 4 of them that i need to go over :( I fitted the rears last weekend and its been ok with the stock springs up front. Going to finish it off before the crap weather arrives for the weekend.
 
Go over them one wheel at a time, at an angle. Seems to help. Or find a new car park :thumbsup:

To be fair, the FK springs I had on mine were 10mm lower than Eibach's....

If you're on Eibachs the speed bumps are bearable. But go any lower and in you're in for trouble over the bumps

:rofl: sounds good, :thumbsup: You know i got a set off 224s as well, need to get them refurbed before i get them on so you let me know if any rubbing issues before i do so :poke: and your more then welcome to borrow my rotary if your brave enough to use it. :D

Mine are H&Rs so i think there some where between the two :?
 
Yeah H&Rs are in the middle. You might be ok. You could always get thicker rear spring seat pads to raise the height a bit. They range in thickness and a thick set will raise the car up a bit :thumbsup:

Edit - my pads were really thin, and I couldnt stand the BMW key upright under the skirt, as the car was too low
 
jan_tekin, hmmm. Thought you had a DA. I got a spare side skirt from Steve when I collected my wheels from him though, so I was going to practice on that.

My wheels are getting rubbered-up tomorrow :D

Still suspicious of this weather though, it's getting colder again...

Mainly just catch the mini mudflap things. Rarely catch the underside but there's not much to damage anyways
 
Ill find out friday if i have trouble at work, think i need new pads anyway as my two snapped springs have made a mess of the original pads on the rears.

Your still more then welcome to borrow it Allan. Not sure a side skirts really big enough to practice on tho, more then happy to show you the basics if you want.
