How long do front Pads last?

Easy now..

Similar to the tyres question, i would have thought my front pads would be cooked by now but they seem to soldier on, have done 17k now. I presume theyre original as I had the car since 1200m. Thought a recent track day would finish them off but they just keep going!

I assume there's a light that comes on when they're done? Any others swapped em of late?

tia =)

When the light comes on, you have worn through the sensor and you will need to replace that as well.

It's only about a fiver to replace though.

Unless you buy it from the dealer ...

I have only seen them for about a tenner on ebay, where can you get them for a fiver?

so any idea how many miles i should expect? (before i have to budget for a sensor)? lol..

Replaced the originals on mine when they hit 30k. Had an MOT advisory and was about to paint the calipers so changed them anyway.

I did once for a "previous" forum. Is there any specific part you want to know about?

I replaced my fronts before they were due as I wanted to upgrade, however I left the rears in until they were dead. Finished them off at about 20k.

Really it depends on the driving you do. Do lots of motorway mileage for example, and you'll probably get a lot more use out of them than someone that does weekend spirited driving and trackdays.

Car has done 24.5k miles - I have been through 3 front sets (1 OEM and 2 x Carbopad) and 2 rears (OEM) . The discs are kinda holding on, but will have to be replaced next time I do pads... :driving: Over 200 laps of the Ring though :oops:
