How long are you planning to keep your M?

As a car that some seem to either keep for a short while or for many years, I thought it would be interesting to see how long M owners on here are planning to keep their car for... Sure there are factors out of our control that sometimes mean we have to sell prematurely but that aside and tallying it against your car history, do you find this is a car you've enjoyed more than your previous cars, do you have any regrets and is it a car you could see yourself enjoying for many years to come?

That's a tough question , a the moment can't see a car out stripping this mc for sheer brute force , looks and the sound of that straight six !

I've no plans to sell mine, well today at least, I do like the ///MC and will probably get one one day, some of my previous cars are Datsun 240Z, TR6, Ford XR's, Peugeot 205 GTI, Porsche 924/944/911, my ///MR is the best car I've had by far, never thought I'd top the 911 or my still ongoing love affair with the 240Z, but the ///M is such a fantastic car, I sometimes look at Boxster S's and Caymans too but pound for pound the ///M is the best for me

I get itchy feet quickly......

I have owned over 130 cars since passing my test,so the Z4M will be on the market soon i guess....

Passed my test in 1986.....

Nissan 300 ZX TT
2 Mercedes Cosworths
Lexus LS 400
Mitsubishi Starion turbo

2 E36 M3's
2 x Porsche 911's
Jenson Interceptor FF..
Z3M coupe
B10 Alpina

Probably had 25 BMW's in various models...40+ Fords in the early days, loads VW's...Few Vauxhalls,Loads of Jap stuff.....

It's nice to have an asset where I can sell at any point that will release over £10k in funds.
I never really think too much about changing it just happens. It took a while to find this car and its a perfect spec and should be desirable to sell on when that time comes. It is not a 'keeper' I am waiting for Evoras to be priced below £30k at that point we will see how much I still want to be driving the Z.

My average is about 5 years - although I purposely buy a cheap runaround for a couple of months whilst I'm in between the good stuff.

Most likely keep my MR for several more years yet.

(Unless I can find something more entertaining for the money) :tumbleweed:

 Impressive collection there, all be it an ample sample! How do you find the M's compared to the list of top cars you've mentioned above?

Nice to hear everyone is loving and enjoying the M :D

Had mine for getting on for four years now. Certainly no plans to sell in the short-term either. I had my previous Zed for 5 years so I guess you could say these things have got under my skin! :)
