Well the best bit of it anyway
Driving from Manchester to Newcastle I decided to go via Cumbria and take the new Zed along the A686
It's a great road at the best of times, but after having heavy rain in Manchester it was nice and sunny by the time we reached J40 on the M6 so we could put the top down and really enjoy the zed. It's the first good road I've taken it along and it was such a pleasure. I was surprised how much of a difference the sport button and turning the DTC off made. I wasn't trying to set any speed records but it was so nice to just flow through the twisty stuff and then hear the engine and exhaust note when accelerating out of slow corners. Really put a
on my face...
We stopped for lunch (and some fantastic cakes) at the Alston House Hotel too, which is a very convenient midpoint.
Sorry there's no real point to this (other than a bit of gloating at the people stuck in work, obviously
