Nearly four years ago I had a lucky escape from a motor bike crash and decided I did not bounce very well. The Tuono was a write off so the insurance money was used to fund my first rag top,a 2001 Z3 1.9.This was thrashed and enjoyed for over a year before making way for an 06 MX5 2.0.This little go cart lasted 6 months before an 03 Boxter 2.7 took its place.A nice motor but always a nagging worry that big bills might happen.5300mls and rear PZEROS were shot, another 2500mls and new Contis were half worn. Two sets of rears in a year, rebuilt alternator and recurring co2 sensor fault after replacing it £100 for part meant after 15 months it had to go for peace of mind.Bmw reliability and cheaper running costs beckoned and a 2007 2.5 S.I.Sport 90000 miles with service history was found privately in Newcastle via Autotrader and 7 months on I still cant get enough driving in it.Black poly bushes were fitted to front wishbones and Falken 453 tyres replaced run flats so ride grip and steering are spot on.The only problem has been replacing hood motor but my trusty mechanic David,DJ MOTORS in EshWinning,07864860960 only charges £150 labour plus BMW motor £350.For tyres in the North East I wouldn't go past Greg who owns Grande Tyres in Swalwell 07932746152 who provides an excellent service. The spirited normally open top driving on all my old bike routes has been fantastic with less chance of injury plus the driving pleasure has been further rewarded by meeting Paul and Craig via the forum and others from runs out.Long may it continue.PS PAUL/STEPH AND Craig TAKE GREAT PHOTOS.
