Brake light came on

Only had the damned thing 2 weeks and the brake light has come on.

I'm guessing lads or discs need replacing.

Firstly is that the case (brakes are still working)

How would I tell which one needs replacing?

Pad sensor has worn through indicating change of pads…assuming you have idrive or use your code reader ..

I don't have iDrive.

Should I have a code reader or I need to buy one or there is some way to see the codes?

@jennifer Louise probably. Ot my fault this time..but I'll do better ha ha

Take your foot off the middle peddle 🙄

Mine only comes on with the handbake applied, if yours comes on while foot on pedal then yours is knackered too.

It came on with no foot pedal applied and stayed on. I was driving in a straight line when it happened I don't even think I was braking.

If it ever stops raining, pop the wheels off and take a good look at the pads. Most likely some or all need replacing. Hopefully nothing more than that. :)

Brake lights are on the back of the car, from memory. I assume the person in front of me puts their brake lights on when they brake, usually because I’m flashing them to get the f@ck out of the way. Gee, you’re a tough audience! 🙄
