How I bought an SLK and ended up with a Z4

What engine that 2.0i is , valvetronic 4 cylinder? What is mileage.
Yeh it's a 2.0i 4 cylinder. Its done 98k.
I bought a Viezu remap which gave it an extra 12 to 18 bhp depending upon which sales blurb you believe.
The car feels a little quicker, to get the most you really need to boot it at 4000 rpm (not something I do too often  )

I never really thought about a Z4 before getting mine - I was looking at RX-8s and 350Zs but a mate suggested a Z4 and as soon as I had a look and a test drive I was sold

My mate had an RX8 years back - was very thirsty on petrol and went through a litre of oil every week, great fun to drive but no open top version.

hi i had a mgf for 4 years very fast car, time to change was after a boxster but to much money, so brought a z3 nice well built car not as fast as the mgf but a nice cruiser, looking for my next car looking for something with a bit more power started to look a the boxsters again but nothing really doing it for me, then went onto the slk, but to high on milage and money, then got offered a 2.5 z4 areo took it for a test drive apart form the r f t it i was well impressed did the deal and it is now sat on my drive :D

Well found it's a nice loking example

I had a SLK 320 for a short period before coming to the Z4, great V6 engine and a nice thing to be in but when the local AA man was on first name terms due to a series of mystery electrical shut-downs it went back to the dealer. Without tempting fete, I've had no real problems in my 5 years with the Zed so it seems like a good choice :driving:

Interesting how you came from the dark side too, I must admit I do like the SLK - particularly the latest model. The SLK 320 V6 would have been my choice but with a budget of 5k I went for a 2004 SLK 200 example. Looks like I could have had other issues had I bought a newer car!

I still love the lines of the SLK (particularly the new model) but for me the Z4 is the car I would go for in future, I've had 4 months trouble free motoring so far and its now on 98k miles. :driving:
