How great is this forum

My wing mirror glass flew off on the m-way so I posted a thread ( http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=76278 ) thinking surely this is a one-off, in the meantime I got a quote from local BMW dealer: £96 for the part. Within hours got lots of very useful info from the thread and links to online shops selling just the mirror glass with adhesive backing – bought one for £16 arrived 3 days later - glued it on sorted! Thanks guys (donation to the forum just sent  )

completely agree, this place has saved me a small fortune and a lot of hassle in the short while ive been here  now i just need to tag along to a meet

Mine came off and I was not even moving . Did what you did phoned BMW the Quote was £97 I went on the net got one for £9.50 I still think BMW have got the decimal point in the wrong place. :driving:

Quite the opposite here, this forum has opened my eyes to a world of very expensive mods which I otherwise wouldn't ever have heard of and certainly don't need, YET I WANT!

+1!

Like this afternoon I'm picking up a F10 M5 illuminated gear knob for £113, and a set of M performance mats for £85... that's nobodies fault but the forums fault.

Be careful about that. I had a 2l, met up with some forumites & ended up moving up to a 3.4l
Seriously though it is a great forum, I've met some super folks - generous in words & actions - & made some fantastic new friends. Get yourself along to a meet sometime :driving:

Meets are great, never meet anyone i thought was a wally, nice to talk to others that share a love of all things Z4
And this forum has made me spend many £££££££££'s

In any group I've mingled with there's always a 'wally', experience has shown that if I cant find him it's usually me :(

Jonny, you drive a 2 seat sports car that you're going to put a turbo in. It deserves to be used properly sometimes, not just parked up on Southend seafront, otherwise you're wasting £7,500 to spend most of your tme at 40-60mph... May as well buy a fake waste gate valve for your exhaust if all you want is to hear 'pssssshhhht' every time you change gear  :D

All that said, you're one of the proper characters on here, and part of the experience

One of the reasons I decided never to part with my z was this forum and the great meets I ve been on over the years.

Yeah tis a great place, and a mine of very good advice and info.

Jonny is a character that is for sure Bing. Just wish i had his kind of dollar to spend on my zed.
