How glossy should Sterling Grey be?

Just waiting for spring then a full refurb! But they do look class when clean!

Very nice! Luckily my M came on 19" CSL reps, or I might have been kicking myself now.

OK I have managed to go to town on the car with G3 "scratch remover" compound! I am much happier with how the car looks.
Which is good because it took me over 6 hours to do.
- Rinse
- Wash with Autoglym Ultimate Shampoo
- Rinse
- Clay
- Rinse
- Compound by hand entire car
- rinse followed by quick wash again wanting to be sure that it is all off.
- Super Resin Polish.
- Extra Gloss Protection sealant (2 hrs wait)

Off to take some pictures!

Preparing my motor for the summer - clay, light polish and this time Gtech CSL & EXO for protection. After 15 years (using AG srp and egp mostly) the laquer inevitably has minor swirls but unlike dark or coloured paint, in sterling grey they’re really not that visible. So no need for heavy polishing.

Loving the sterling Greys guys!!

Mine isn't looking quite so pretty at the moment, only washed it a couple of days ago and it's dusty as heck again

Sterling Grey is a weird colour TBH, maybe it's a pearl effect but the colour changes from some sort of near-brown shade, through moody dark grey gloss, then silk grey tones to a near matt silver depending on the light. Mine will gloss up really well but took a couple of goes with a clay bar and lots of product and elbow grease when I first got and now it just needs occasional top ups. I'm sure a detailing pro will be along with some nano-tectonic micro lilac dodo bum juice recommendations in a bit but, I'd suggest clay bar (something I'd never heard of until joining the forum  ), polish and wax using micro fibre mitts/cloths. Stick at it, it's a brilliant colour IMHO

Love those wheels, had them on my E85 on Phoenix yellow, looked lovely...

These are all looking great!!
I am going to be trying out my new DA polisher for the first time in a couple of days time. Have no idea how it is going to go. I think I will start with a light polish rather than my most aggressive compound and see how it goes.

I look forward to sharing the results :D
