Which way round does everyone fit it ? Flat side facing in to the cabin, or recessed side ?

Mine only fits one way. Fitted the wrong way it will not lock into place. Same in the boot storage.

As to effective or not, I find it highly effective Vs driving without. Of course at 100mph (on a track) it's not going to feel much different, but cruising around you can certainly tell it's fitted.

+1 on the only fitting one way - mine doesn't click into place if offered up the wrong way round.

Quite a big difference for me, option wasn't selected on my car but I retrofitted it (OEM mesh slot-in one), not much difference up to 40-50mph but it's much better at motorway speeds with the deflector fitted, well worth the £60 :).

Makes a big difference to me - I tested one without it and didn't really want to pay the cost of adding one - luckily the car I bought in the end had one - I know what you mean though with it in place and the roof up it reduces visibility and the headlights behind have a star effect even with the auto dimming mirrors
