How easy to fit BMW Xenons?

The same one your looking at - I actually paid someone to fit them, more so to the fact I wanted the lens changed from ribbed to clear (big thread on this)

When I obtained another set of lights for my angel eye's I just transplanted the hids across. Took 3mins per light, plug and play you could say
 
Thanks Ranski, I'll be doing the job myself with my dad. Hopefully all be ok. What power did you go for mate, I was think 6000K or 8000K?
 
Think I will follow suit then. Thanks for the help. Is there a fitting guide in that thread you linked me to or any where else on the forum do you know?

Very valid point though, especially if you havnt purchased your car yet. Why not just look for one with xenons, less hassle, less cost, less worries. Its almost as simple a decision as vcar vs non-vcar.

Very valid point though, especially if you havnt purchased your car yet. Why not just look for one with xenons, less hassle, less cost, less worries. Its almost as simple a decision as vcar vs non-vcar.

I wouldn't agree on 'less hassle' a lot of the Z's are hitting 6 - 8 years old and I've seen quite a few posts with ballasts and auto levelling components failing - which aren't cheap to replace, especially when you factor in the cost of retro xenons at £50
 
I don't think there are that many cars running around in this condition with only 39k on them and full BMW service history. To say no to it simply because of it's lack of certain headlights in favour of a higher mileage, probably not as good condition model wouldn't be reasonable or sensible. I would tend to agree that it wasn't a particularly helpful reply.
 
I would agree if the car had already been purchased but its not like we're talking about a coupe here. The zed is not that rare, just be patient and find exactly what you want. Anyway back to the topic.

What motor are you looking to buy Phil? Where abouts do you live in Ireland?
 
The car is bought, I haven't seen anything as good over the last month and half really! Can't wait forever. Plus, adding this kit to the car is hardly a big ask.

Just wondering, live close to there also. Thinking of selling soon but I'm in a coupe. What's the used car z4 market like out there in Ireland? Condition and prices etc

Pretty bare to be honest! There are very few 3.0l Z4s for sale over here any that are have 70k+ miles and are priced higher than in England. The vast majority of Z4 roadsters for sale are 2.0 or 2.2 variants. The range of choice is just far larger in Britain.
 
It is a good market to sell. I managed to sell my Audi TT for £1.3k more than I was told I could expect in England! It is a small market though and you need the right buyer to come along. Someone told me I should bring my Z4 over and sell it in the summer because I would definitely make money :lol:
 
Nice one on the TT, you were maybe one of the lucky ones. Cars are hard to shift private at the best of times at the minute!
 
That's very true, don't think there is a lot of private sales happening at all! In fact the only 3.0 Z4 I have seen sell quickly over here was one that had the mileage clocked on it, being sold by a dealer over here known for being a crook! Lucky escape for me there!

Jez where abouts was this? Is it easy to clock the milage? Wouldn't of thought it!
 
He is from Mallusk in Belfast. Apparently it can be done using the right software quite easily. He's known for doing it from what I've been told.
