How does bluetooth work on cars with no nav?

once you have paried your phone...

steering wheel buttons to switch radio between radio and phone and scroll through the phonebook.

phonebook displayed on the really rather inadequate one line radio display...

However, you do have voice commands...

You sure? Didn't know that. WIll have to get the instruction manual out and give it a go

It's the version of the ULF module that governs it. There are 13 released versions and I think 8 onward have voice. I certainly do on my Zed with a retrofit Version 8 in it and also in the X5 with a retrofit V12.

V8 came out in May 06, but it's luck of the draw what was fitted and when.

Frankly it's not that good, fun to play with and call up map functions too, but after a while you just use the steering wheel controls to scroll and dial.

My 2007 has voice cmds but maybe it is because the phone supports that....

phone supports it but I guess its either an option to the bluetooth system or my ulf module not offering it :idunno:
