Same here drive with mine in place 365 days a year top up/top down. Was strange at first but dont notice it now. :driving:

except at night when the dispersion on cars lights is frustrating and the clarity of vision generally frustrates me. I chose the extended storage pack for mine and still i have a first aid kit 'The BMW bola' and the windblocker cover rolling around my boot, disappointing.

I can imagine there were a lot of BMW boffins discussing this problem for hours!

It must be said the simplicity of the E85 clips is very neat, however I have always been envious of my mother's TT windbreaker which slides up and down at the touch of a button

I also keep mine in place all year. Never noticed any problem with lights behind - maybe because they never get close :poke:

I've not took mine off. Went to one day looked a bit fiddly and couldn't be ersed. I have a long cover for it and I suppose it would sit in the netting behind the seats?

I pop mine in the bag, and pop the bag on the shelf behind a seat, held in place by the storage net, other side of the rear shelf has the first aid kit held in place by the net. That way you can quickly reach behind the seat, out of the bag and into place. Once you get the knack that you need to slide it forward or back to lock unlock, it takes seconds to put on.

Stays in the bag on the shelf in winter, and stays up in place for summer.

My windblocker is always in place, because my roof is always open 8)

I actually quite like it at night, it diffuses the glare of the car behind's headlamps.

What's a "BMW bola" ?

Agree not having a cubby for the first aid kit is a pain; I've wedged mine in the 'bin' in the rear left of the boot floor (along with the bag for the wind blocker).

As for the TT glass windbreaker, I too thought it was good until mine spontaneously shattered one day. Apart from being scary with bits of glass flying everywhere around the cockpit while driving, you would not believe how expensive it is to replace (they have to dismantle most of the car, at least that's what it looked like - the interior trim was never the same again). Plus the TT windbreaker is too far behind the seats to do its job properly, the Z4 one up close between the headrests is far more effective.

 for the first line: and for the second

it's a S. American throwing weapon, consisting of two or more balls tied together. Now the rabbits are breeding like no tomorrow in the field next to me i'm going to use mine to try and bag a bunny for the pot
