How do you shut your boot?

With the hand on top of the boot, but if the gf is closing it then it's as hard as possible because gravity 's not quick enough

Two ways that I use, one is to grab the handle on the inside and give a good pull downward, but you gotta get hand out of the way. Other one is to use the Roundel so you don't touch the trunk(boot).

Handle, and try and be as gentle as possible given the known issue with the boot mounted brake light!

Whats the issue with the brake light? first I've heard.

It was an issue on the Z3 as I've just forked out £300 for a new wiring loom as they tended to kink and the loom wires snap, so no brake light or central locking.

Tim.

Not sure if that is an e89 issue Tim - definitely an issue on the e85 where the nuts and springs holding th light in can be too tightly done up, causing pressure that weakens the plastic... Which can be turned to a crack from slamming the boot. Though TBH I think the design means it will crack in the centre or at the ends in time anyway unless the springs are changed and the nuts loosened.

Ah OK thanks for that, I was starting to worry I would be getting potential probs :?

Oh I wouldn't dismiss it quite yet, took a couple of years for the problem to become apparent on the e85. Just like the crap roof motor

And for the record, I blow mine closed, then clean off the condensation with a microfibre cloth 8)

Inside recess in the boot, and still do but now its just easier
