How do you Disable door airbags

Hi I am going to replace my window regulator today what do I need todo to disable the airbags in the door ? I am a bit worried about breaking them and then ending up with the airbag light stuck on.
 
As stated before disconnect the battery before you unplug the air bag. It is recommended to leave some time beofre disconnecting the battery and unplugging the airbag, I always leave it for 30 minutes to be on the safe side!

Do what you need to do and make sure the air bags are plugged back in BEFORE you reconnect the battery and everything should be fine.
 
Phillip27: What was the level of difficulty to replace the regulator and where did you buy the parts? My 2003 Z4 passenger side widow regulator malfunctioned last month, luckily the motor is still working.
