Looking for the neatest way to connect my iphone 5 to aux under heater control panel.currently using BMW y cable & apple lightning adapter, but a bit messy. Got my brodit mount & now have all this cable wrapped up. Any ideas on a better way to connect my phone for my music.

Was thinking about that Stuart, you think you get the same sound quality ? Would be a gold plated 3.5 to 3.5 !

Gold plated is only any good if the rest of the wiring is up to the same standard. Tbh, in a car you're hardly in an acoustically perfect environment. Just get a decent quality lead and enjoy it.

Your best bet though, is to fit an Intravee or a Dice and use the iPod functionality from the steering wheel.

The aux on our cars are notoriously bad, your not going to get a good sound quality regardless.

For ease, I bought a belkin Bluetooth thing which sits on my steering column. I get in and press it and my music starts. It saves messing around with wires and opening the correct app etc.

Wrong thread Liam

I did the same the other day

EDIT - deleted quoted comment :D

Which Belkin do you use Liam?

i use this.

i wired the power in to a switched live so it comes on with the car, all the wires are hidden behind the dash and the main bit sits on the steering column.

Any chance of a quick 'how to' on how you wire the power in?

Not much info on intravee on the net. Anyone know of any specialist in Ayrshire/ Glasgow area ?

I use a Bluetooth receiver for playing music from my iPod works great for me, a bit of Velcro and it tucks up under the heater controls

Snap! Except mine is next to radio. Works well, would recommend.

Bluetooth nice in general - works with most things, unlike cables where everything seems to need a different one!

Hmmm I use a y cable with the excess cable wound around the broadit which looks ok then feed the cable between the seat heater panel and the dash which hold it nicely. Then the aux jack and the USB lead split off nicely to their respective homes. :) I get in make one connection I.e plug in the base of me iphone and away ya go. Sound through my Aux is mighty fine. Spotify playing with sat nav on and music volume is lowered when sat nav lady talks, spotify and sat nav lady are muted when phone rings and all comes out of the main speakers. Want to make a call? Should be able to use the Siri voice command to dial, it's a multimedia masterpiece! :D
