How do people gain access to underside of car

Fair play!

I use some XL axle stands, similar to https://www.sgs-engineering.com/jsr6-ratchet-axle-stands
One on each jacking point can get you high enough for most jobs. I've done a clutch swap like this.
See page 1-2 of my build thread for photos.

Joining onto this thread, so what is it you all reccomend?

I need to do some work on underside of my car as well and currently don't have any proper equipment. So what would you all reccomend for a good and safe way to jack the car (without spending over a grand like PVR setup that I'm very jealous of)

I was looking at the SGS 5 piece kit followed maybe with a ramp? but I'm unsure if this would be the safest way if I'd need to raise it quite high.

Any advice for a kit for someone who has nothing would be great :)

A neighbour of mine had his car hight enough for me using a low level high lift trolley jack which he got from Halfords also using high axle stands. Think that is the way I will go as my trolley jacks just dont go high enough for me to get underneath in a way I can work.
