GP06Roadster... Most picture/photo editing programs have a blurring tool of some kind.
What picture/photo editing software do you have?

Currently just using photobucket, I can blur the plates no problem but I've seen some post pictures with a completely blank number plate that's been really well edited. Just wondered how

GIMP (a free alternative to photoshop) allows you to select the number plate and blank it out cleanly without affecting the surrounding area.

Alternatively, the professional touch as shown in Jasey's post is also easily achievable! :P

Now before I click on a link with GIMP in the title am I about to get questioned by the wife?

took 1 minute :)

Or, for a more natural look, select the area and do a graduated fill with the shading in the correct direction

You can do a lot more than remove number plate details - this was the original version of the photo above

OMG is that how Z4M's are becoming rare you just delete them from pics

If you are using photobucket - there is an option to edit - when you have the image you want to work on then click on edit. It will come up with options across the top

scroll across the top section to the right and you will find a pencil icon titled draw.

Click on this and choose a colour and a brush size which you can then use on your number plate.

Have a play and you'll find it's not too difficult to make a neat job and saves going to another programme.

:driving:

Never really understood why people delete plates in their photos. Is there a valid reason I'm missing other than paranoia somebody may steal a Z4 and use the plate to create a police computer friendly vehicle [unlikely and easily done if you're a thief by just standing in any high street for 30 mins/visiting a BMW dealership]?

Please educate me!

I was wondering the same but didn't like to ask in case I was being a bit dim (which is still a possibility) :)

Some people just like to remain a bit mysterious... :spy:

Or you get stalkers on the forum who really think they are clever by working out where you live
