How do I tell if I have the correct springs fitted (yellow mark) pic

Can you please stop referring to it as 'm tec'. There is no such thing on E85/86 Z4's. They're simply sport springs.

No time unfortunately, getting it done on my to work with an alignment at lunchtime. Only discovered it was broken at the weekend when I DIYed (with some help) RTABs with limiters, tie rods and uprated engine mounts. Car is all over the place now so just want it sorted but can't do alignment with a broken coil...

I'm just calling it what it's referred to by car pars supplies.

It might be worth having a look at the shockers as well. Quite often they still have the part number sticker on so you can use Real OEM to check you have both the right springs and the right shockers on all round, just for peace of mind. I did this when I first got mine and we had if up on a ramp. With all the stories of broken springs being replaced with the wrong ones on here I guess I got a bit paranoid about it!

I did get the Suplex springs for just £24 each! Stopped off at Ramp it Up and hired a 2 post for an hour at £17.50 and popped them in myself, with a bit of help from a burlier onhand mechanic. All told rear spring replacement for £65.50, beat that! :D

I picked up the suplex springs direct from the factory in Sheffield,it is a while ago now so I may have payed £60 for the pair can't really remember, either way you got a great deal there.
Me and a pal did it the drive so saved the £17.50
Meyle hd drop links delivered today this weekends task weather permitting . :D

I've always found jobs on cars to be harder than you expect they will be and so haven't been brave (or silly) enough to attempt much on my drive. Discs and pads is about my limit. Renting a ramp where there are mechanics on hand who will help a small amount for free makes it more accessible. I'm waiting on H&R ARBs to be delivered and I've got adjustable front droplinks and standard rear ones ready for it. It's £50 for 4hrs or £90 for 9hrs so pretty cheap compared to garage labour and makes life so much easier.

You got springs for cheap too then, I'm sure people have been quoting £120 for a pair on here...

I agree on tasks being harder than expected, when I tackle anything its nearly always with a pal that's a lot more capable than I ,seems a good shout to hire a ramp could see how this would make life a hell of a lot easier.good luck with the Diy.
I wonder if there is a ramp hire place near Barnsley?

Discs and pads is a harder job than changing the rear springs.
I wouldn't entirely agree with you there. Getting the bolt back into the damper would be fiddly on the drive but with the car in the air and a transmission jack it was easy. Where stuff is under tension or compression I don't like doing it on the drive. Bolt on bolt off I find easier.

Bolt for the damper is easy. Use another jack to lift it all back up until it's all in line and then insert bolt

Took me about 15 mins per side, doing it on the road.
