How do i make my car sound like this..

All sounds quite easy to do and reasonably priced to me!

I seriously looked at a 360 two years ago but the running costs of daily use just didn't stack up. I also heard from a friend who had owned a series of super cars in the past that the experience of ownership was very different from having a thrash around on a weekend loan or track day.

Plus imagine the parking OCD if you owned a 360!!!

Or how about these Woots,

V10

V8

Why go V8 when you can have a V10? If it weren't an engineering (and therefore financial) nightmare, I would love a transplant from an M5

Hypothetically speaking if i could do such a transplant i would prefer the M3's V8 over the M5's V10. Suits the ethos of the Z4M much better, lighter than the straight six we have and 400hp is just about the perfect power rating. Would need several peripheral mods as well though, suspension, brakes etc.

the ideal for the z4m imo is 500WHEELhp and 500torque..... that would be perfection... In dry weather this car really lays down the power very well.
the V8 would be lovely in this car with some tweaking....

That's overkill in my opinion. The S65 with some aggressive cams and maping would be perfection. Something like 450 rampaging naturally aspirated Bavarian horses. Torquier than the S54 but still with an exceptional top-end and a 8400 RPM red-line! Mouthwatering.

Food for thought??

Be great if someone with way too much spare cash bought that and stuck it in an e89, just to find out what the ///M division should have been allowed to build :D

Hmm , why are you guys complaining ? The unique sound of the ferrari is from the flat plane v8 engine. Very few manufacturers make flat plane v8's. The plane refers to the crank and the way the pistons are aligned. Anyway the TVR Cebera (spelling) has a flat plane v8 , so you guys in the UK are quite lucky to have a rare engined car with a unique sound. I believe u can have those tvr's cheap as well. Ok get a move on googling it.....
I'll have one if someone would send a sample to me is SA.

OP add a touch of boost..... completely changes the sound the s54 makes!!! it really wails with 8+lbs of boost rammed into the motor!!

what would happen if....imagine if you could inject compressed air into the engine...from a canister similar to nitrous...but with compressed c02 obtained from outside the air? what would happen exactly if it were possible

Maybe ..... What I can say my power curve is like a v10 , no mad dips or dives in power, just a clean ramp up of power, peak power is made at 7900 as well.... Looks like the stock curve just much higher up the graph.

I'll add some wild cams now and leave the motor alone.

Surely nothing - literally. CO2 would kill the explosion wouldn't it ?

even though engines work on c02 from the atmosphere and just compress it and add fuel vapor etc...
so adding a shot of compressed air tht was in abundance, easy to obtain and recharge etc and spraying tht into the chamber would benefit? am i darwin??

Depends on the gas. Co2 would likely kill the combustion if too much were injected.

No2 (nitrous oxide) and it's a different story. Not sure if heat breaks down Co2 in the same way as No2.

damnn, was hoping i could invent some sort of natural air collecting device that tops up a canister while ur driving, faster you go, the more air is collected thus charged. id use this equation to calculate how it would work

http://www.sciencebase.com/images/big-equation.jpg

I wouldn't use that equation - it's missing a 'y' ... You'd end up decompressing the air and forcing fuel to explode out of the front grills :P

By the way, CO2 is used in fire extinguishers for electrical fires, and pure O2 is too explosive when mixed with fuel...Think you need an ESS supercharger like Beedub's mate
