How do I know if I need Inspection 1 or 2?

yes. should have had an inspection 1 and oil change previously if you need an inspection 2, and visa versa for an inspection 1.
 
What does it say on the dash, Oil service,or inspection. it's there every time you switch on??? :o
 
Yes go back to the service history. Assuming its been serviced according to schedule then use the following rules;

If it has never had an inspection service then you need insp 1
If its last inspection service was an insp 1 then you need an insp 2
If its last inspection service was an insp 2 then you need an insp 1
