I am intending to change my broadband provider but need my MAC code from Orange.
I have held on the phone for over 30 minutes with no reply on more than one occassion.
Is there any other way of getting it?
Any advice appreciated.

The MAC code must be obtained from your provider... sorry. Its an authorisation code provided by your supplier so that the receiving provider can access the required details by using the MAC.

Write to them. After wasting your time on the phone, some ask for confirmation in writing anyway

Recently swapped from Plusnet to Sky and they did it all for me so no need for me to contact the outgoing ISP

Maybe I'm being a div but why do you need a mac code if switching internet providers?

dav, try these web sites they may have more direct ways of getting the code.

imp75, first one explains what the code is.

and i thought the mac address was on the router

That's a mac address not a mac code.

Media Access Control address as opposed to a Migration Authorisation Code, so the latter is a MAC not a MAC code ;-)

iirc it only lasts for a month from issue, so make sure that when/if you get it, you act on it.
