How do I activate 3d view on Satnav?

Sorry for the newbie type question (tried several searches) but have gone all Satnav this week, purchased a Tomtom one v4 for work and the missus's car and so thought I'd update the Zed's Satnav at the same time.

Updated (from a 2003 version!) to v32 software and to 2009-2 Europe maps. Apart from looking a bit nicer I can't actually see that much of a difference straight off - anyway how do I activate the 3d view and are there any other features I should look out for?!

Cheers.

You need to access the secret menu, from memory you need to press the menu button for around 8 seconds whilst on the main menu screen then you are presented with extra options etc, one of which is 3d option.

to clarify srhutch's steps....

go to set/menu screen
press and hold the menu button until you get the secret menu
scroll down the options and select perspective (on the 2nd page)
go to the GPS screen
press down on the right radio button to get the the nav menu
scroll down and select map positioning
select perspective

Why would BMW hide this in secret menus?

I would have thought a 3D view was fairly standard on any Sat-Nav system nowadays.

Many thanks guys - very much appreciated.

And I agree with TH3R4POR why the hel* hide options like this?!

In fact it's worse than just hiding it... you have to configure/select it in 2 places before it is displayed... one being hiden! :headbang:

I just can't see the logic behind that, why make something you offer to customers appear worse than it is?

So they can charge you £100 to configure your sat nav :)

Very interested on how to do this. I have the latest 2009 disc, but can't get the secret menu. I assume it's because the software version is old.
How do I update the software??

you need v26 and onwards to have perspective view.
