How do genuine Bmw floor mats stop sliding around ?

Hi

As the title suggests really.
I need new mats and was wondering how the the genuine Bmw mats attach to the carpet ?
I've looked at some after market mats and some screw into the carpet and others rely on a rubber back.

I don't really want the screw type if they damage the carpet.

Any advice would be great.

Thanks

The BMW ones have Velcro that keeps them in place. There are two tabs either side of the footwell that hold the mat in place

I don't have Velcro in my footwell, only on the mats... And the drivers one doesn't stick :x

Need some new ones myself, but will just get the OEM ones.

In my roady one of the velcro discs was missing..

I got 2 metres of double sided sticky velcro off ebay for a £5,and used it on the matt and carpet..

I worked a treat...it never moved an inch.

My tabs are missing. Are they sewn into the carpet ?

Yes, they're sewn in. If you're handy with a thimble you might be able to re attach enough to hold mats in place

That's interesting I did the same and possibly because of the warm weather the sticky glue side of the Velcro soon came unstuck.

I then used a single screw in plastic job and the mat stays where it is.

I was using a very thick pile mat though at £100 a go from

some thinner mats may work fine with the velcro though.
