How difficult to remove backboxes? For bypass

Exactly. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder! I personally like them and they are extremely well made in comparison to other OEM silencers. A pair of hanging bollocks they may be, but if you've got 'em, flaunt them.

I can't comment on whether it gives a better sound or not, I've not heard either in real life to compare.

Here you go. A before and after. Apologies that the first part suffers from wind noise, but you know what a "before" sounds like anyway :)

gwatson - how did you get on in the end? I pre-warned MM of my impending exhaust mod plans but i'm yet to pass by and drop them in his capable hands. I think i decided to pussy out and try the bypass, however now i'm back to thinking... to hell with it, straight through!

Drone is my only concern.

Won't know for another couple of weeks, MM still working on them (i made it clear there was no rush as the car is off the road until 1st of April). I also bottled the bypass mod and going for the internal mod. Not sure I have the balls for straight through....

Sorry - bit confused, you're going for the bolt-on Bypass Pipes or the Internal Straight-through mod (a'la exdos)?

I think i'm going to bite the bullet and go for exdos' style, the bypass seems to definitely move the sound towards raspy e46, so i'm hoping the straight through is deeper and more performant.
