How did you use the extra hour this weekend? ...

Well I decided to do a little DIY on the Z4...

The washer jets weren't flowing properly. The local garage generously offered to clean the filters for £55! Time to get my fingers dirty for once...

(1) siphoned washer fluid into a bucket
(2) undid 1 bolt
(3) unclipped two plugs
(4) eased the washer container out
(5) washed the filters
(6) reverse of the above with new fluid.

Washer jets now work perfectly. From a guy who rarely gets his hands dirty I found it all rather satisfying.

Snoozing while my 2 year old watched Paw Patrol after waking up at 5... :headbang:

Had to do mine when I first got my Z4. Amazing how much gunk gets caught on those filters. Mine were like jelly

I swapped out my grey headlight switch for a black one. Bit tricky with regards to making sure I didn't snap the electrical board behind the cover, but easy enough to do.

 yeah, i have gradually been changing my pre-facelift retro grey stuff for the black Facelift bits. I sprayed the centre air vent and cd player surround (nightmare jobs as it's a lot of dismantling) to go with my black centre console insert and ashtray surround.

Now I just need Facelift vent sliders, which have chrome bits on. I've managed to get some from another BMW model, but they require modification to fit onto the E85 vent slats.

I had to replace the pumps last week on my dad's X3, which looks the same (except 2 pumps for front and rear). However, I did not see any filters. Where are they?

Well, I WAS looking forward to an extra hour in bed, as the girls open the shops on a Sunday, but as we had a new addition to our brood last night, I was on "dog watch" and the lovely Kiera ended up on the end of our bed...

And she woke me at 3am, 5am and 7am as she wanted "wee-wees" :)

I had to do this on my 2nd one before I went for an MOT.

FWIW I had the same problem when I got my E46 Compact, and it seems to be caused by either no additive being used, or using different additives.

I stayed up late and finally got around to watching the Red Hot Chilli Peppers set from Reading / Leeds this year that I recorded.

It was brilliant - had to crank it up a bit, so the neighbours may have enjoyed it a bit less than me!

Well MrsG was off to Exeter on the train, shopping, with daughter. JuniorG is in Fuertaventura, at a swim training camp. So that left me to whatever I fancied.

Pulled the Zed out of the garage and headed up to the moors, beautiful morning. Met up with the Moorland ramblers at 10am and walked a tough 15 miles of open moorland. Finished at about 3:30pm and drove the 40 miles back home, sun still shining brightly. |First home so had plenty of time to clean the Zed inside and out  and do a little gardening before dark.

Looks like a great evening telle too so all in all a cracking Sunday and extra hour much enjoyed. :D

Used it to do an unplanned 30k on the bike.
'Unplanned' as all the dodderers come out on a sunday, but i thought 'fk it, maybe the dodderers will stay in bed'
They didn't :|
