Hard top mentioned in the text Mr Wilks :poke:
Strut brace not sold on yet need to do some research on that and aero skirts not sure it needs it.
However i did leave off clear third brake light (fitted) and set of eibach springs(wanted)
Hope Mrs F doesnt see this post

It's a big toy, often mistaken for a car...AKA a money pit, hehe...
I'm having the back box mod done end of April by Pauls car welding.
He came down from Milton Keynes end of Feb. All the nuts on the flange from the down pipes were corroded beyond recognition. He doesn't carry oxy to cut so the mod was delayed. I do have pics of the new nuts n bolts but since upgrading my iphone ios I can't get the pics off of it. Bought oe nuts n bolts and took the car to MrExhaust in Reigate (recommended by forum member and re-recommended by myself) £140 to cut out the old bits and replace. Perfect job, no damage to the flanges. Now waiting till end of April. Feel a lot better that the old corroded bits are now good as new.
Whatever money one throws at these older z isn't coming back that's for sure.

Not sold on the clear lights, saw a z the other day with clear back lights, thought it looked cheap.

I know what you mean. Since finding the forum my car spend has massively increased- Hardtop, new wheels and tyres, zhp, cupholders.
No doubt more things to come as well.

Deadly for the wallet this place! :D
Does make a well sorted forum car with a load of well chosen mods a bargain for the next owner, particularly as the cars continue to age and get cheaper and cheaper. Its not like the parts for the favourite mods are getting any cheaper, hell most seem to get pricier and pricier. Just look at the M Sport wheel for example, 4-5 years back it was £250ish at the dealers now its over £500! Whatever happened to parts getting cheaper as cars get older!

18s dont know exact size off the top of my head.

Unless I'm mistaken, Pilot sport 4s's are not currently available in 18"

They are now, well at least according to black circles. Front and rear in both standard and M spec sizes.

That depends on how long you keep the car David. The early Z4's are still heading towards the bottom of the value curve, once they have got there and sat there for a while, the only way is up

Hi Fred, hope your keeping well mate. I'm sure that the z will become a collectors car once most have been run into the ground and wrapped around trees :o
I've thrown around 5k at it so far. £1,700 of that was the hardtop and painting. 2 tires were £400. Paid £4,500 for it. It runs like a Swiss watch. Just fitted an oe windscreen, new rubbers and scuttle cover. Another £140 on getting the nuts on the flange sorted. £240 for backbox mod coming up. It's the little jobs to keep it up to scratch that add up.

I agree your views Firebody. I attend a lot of classic car shows - NEC, Excel etc and dealers are starting to shun 70/80s cars that look like they will need some work before sale as it can take thousands of man hours to restore and they then sell at a loss. At both the shows I mentioned Z3s were up for sale as dealers said they can turn a decent profit on well sorted low mileage cars. They reckoned that once all the thrashed high mileage Z4s go to the scrap yard in the sky cherished examples of our cars will attract their attention and prices will rise. So the lesson is all please continue to pile on the miles so that my minter will start to appreciated.

All that matters is what you think looks good, nothing else, least of all others opinions on taste  Enjoy your car and make it the way you want it.
