How come the little green square stays on?

Hi all,since my laptop did updates a while ago,the green square stays green even after I have read the thread/post,is this something to do with my forum settings?

Windows? Press F12, to see what version of IE you now have. It's likely to gave upgraded to IE10, which has some compatibility issues with some site features. You can always use the F12 option to run in IE9 instead.

I did what you said mate-you were right its IE10

Press F12, click on the tab for ie10, it will drop down and show prior versions. Just choose ie9 there (it'll be something like Compatibility mode).

Whenever I do a thumbs up smilie or similar I get a red underline like a spell checker?
