How close? Not being able to see end of your bonnet.

I pulled up to work today as per usual, got out the car and saw how close I was to hitting my front bumper! These cars really needed to come with front parking sensors! I'll let the pics do the talking.

Ah the joys of being a new owner. It is a challenge, just be glad there isn't a curb there. All I can say is you get used to gauging the distance. Even if you park way back from the curb your back end is still usually equal with the bigger cars out there.

think you need this:

:o That's either very well judged, or a close call!

Interestingly on my E89 which I spec'd with front/rear parking sensors, it seems at times that the front sensors take time to "catch up" i.e. the graphic on the screen shows you are suddenly very close to the object in front... maybe I'm just moving forwards too quickly for them.

A lot of Z4's come with rear parking sensors. Why they don't put them on the front I'll never know. You're pretty much sat on the back end, and the bonnet is 10 miles long, would make more sense to put them on the front!

Agree - they've got the sensors on the wrong end of the Z4. Not that I've got them anyway!

I'm considering those Parking Dymanics ones for the rear of my van though - 5.1m of big white van with a bike rack sticking out the back can be challenging at times...

In the US, sensors are not standard (on either end). I just give plenty of space on the front and usually back into spaces with stops. I've scraped the front air dam ONCE-I was in a hurry and in an unfamiliar lot. Won't happen again.

If you roll up slowly the numberplate will buffer up and then you bounce back gently.

If in doubt it works.

Probably not so good for the numberplate :D

Yer I have sensors onthe back. Was just in a hurry which didn't help. I always use other cars etc to help me in a bay but this wasn't. Parked my car in a power station. Only room for one lol. At least I've learnt the easy way.
