Had my licence taken away 14 years ago. Was going slightly over the limit :D

double? more? tell us dammit! :P

Well I was driving up the m40 from London near thame. Had a call from the then girlfriend who was pregnant with my son and she had to go to hospital. I tried to ring her back but no answer so decided best get home quick.

Was doing 140mphwhen I saw unmarked car sat on side of motorway slammed the brakes on but was still doing 105 when I went past and of course was all caught on camera. Did contemplate just going for it and leaving him standing but thought better of it and stopped.

Was upfront and truthful in court and got 21 day ban and £100 ban so lucky really.

I don't do that anymore :poke:

Sounds like they actually took the circumstances into account!

No I was advised not to use that as excuse. So was first in and was upfront about speeding and shouldn't have been. But need licence for work. They thanked me for honesty and as I had been made redundant at the time took that into account with fine

I did have a really useful "remote garage door opener" fitted when I had the Evo a really unfortunate side effect was it seemed to scramble the speed cameras :shifty:

Yes,these were very good gadgets, never had a garage myself either, haha.
Mine stopped working after a few years though....on my then 2 year old, heavily modified cavalier(2.0 8valve,with 16v head, bigger injectors, "maretti" turbo if I remember correctly, some Italian make,as opposed to the garret turbo Vauxhall used....ran the same 205bhp as a cav.or Calibra turbo tho :D ,coupled to the 6spd gertrac box  ).

Strange! I never had a garage either!

Been clean for around 12 years i think..

Banned twice in my 20's....

Excess speeding mostly, odd dodgy tyre..

Got caught at 113 mph

Never had a single point against my licence. Only one collision when a muppet tried to drive around me when stationary turning right... and missed where my car wasn't .

I have been lucky to own a clean licence since 2000, probably helps not having to drive each day for work.

No points for me now for some time. Did a Speed Awareness seminar last summer, 36 in a 30 zone.

Did have 10pts when I was younger, it was 6 but then I decided to contest my next 3 points and ended up with 4 plus a £150 fine when the fines at the time were £60. The plod forgot to put my Reg no. on the roadside ticket they issued so I thought I could get away with it, not a prayer!!

Rozzers are not my most favourite of people to be honest. Power mad the ones I've had dealings with before.

Just some perspective ....

was reading Nial Mackenzies book just recently, he just popped in a comment that he has been banned from driving in the UK 3 times

makes my 6 points look like pussy ........

Being in Snowdonia with the boys and the Zeds this week I am not saying anything.

I crept over 75 accidentally once today, so I don't want to push my luck . Ask me again in a month :o

Drove around with 2 endorsments for 3 years back in the day when 3 endorsments got you a totting up ban , then in 1985 ish got a two week ban for 122 on my bike and late last year did a speed awarenss course for 85 on a duel carriageway, though I drive like Miss Daisy when in built up areas :?

Once got stopped on the M4 whilst trying to wring out 150 from an M5.

Coppers just wanted a look at the car and then let me on my way telling me to take it easy.

The good old days when speeding wasn't really illegal (nor was drink driving :o )

not sure I'd get away with it now.

Clean licence at present - Most was 6 - put me off getting too many.

Don't speed on straight empty roads - stick to the bendy back roads for sprited :driving:

The last time I was done for speeding was 91 mph on the M1 at 3 o'clock in the morning, there was only me and the b&*stard who pulled me over on the motorway at the time. :headbang:
