How can u switch off SPEED-RELATEDvolume in SATNAV

As per title,i have been trying to switch off the Speed-related volume in my 08 reg z4. I have the DSP equiped stereo(carver/logic7),which has an Analogue dsp amp,and which also has The Profesional Satnav system.

I have tried everything i can think of,but cant get the option of speed-related volume to show on the nav screen anywhere, meaning i cant switch the feature off,and finding it annoying when speeding up/slowing down :headbang:

FYI,i had the same DSP/Carver option hifi on my previous,2005 z4,but WITHOUT THE SATNAV...meaning a difrnt stereo, which had a " note symbol ",that u could press and hold.this would then display an option to turn up/down/off the speed related volume settings.

Since the Satnav eqpd cars have a diffirent stereo, pressing the tone button on this stereo doesnt do anything, and the owners manual just says it "has speed-related volume",with no info on how to adjust/switch off.

Anybody know how this can be done??
Cheers

The manual I have says its adjusted automatically and gives no reference on how to adjust.

I'd be interested to know how you can do this with flimper spec stereo. It really annoys me. I have it turned down to 1 (the lowest setting), but it still jumps the volume up at 30mph, 50mph etc :headbang:

I've read the manual...

Adam, does urs have dsp and profsnl.satnav??

My 05 reg you could turn this off, more or less, but it had No Satnav, only dsp stereo...
My 08 has both, and manual doesnt say how to turn down/off.....
Dealer blamed it on having dsp,but seems to be down to combo of DSP HIFI AND SATNAV....

DRIVING ME NUTS,As its set v high. blaring when accelerating, then v v quiet when slowing down :headbang:

Got to be a way to turn off/down on nav and dsp setups??

I thought the nav volume option was a differential from the stereo. If you turn it right down, Hilda talks to you at the same volume as the radio, turn it up and she screams "rechts, Schnell!" at the top of her voice. It's a crap system though...

Yes you can set NAV volume separate to audio but that's not related to speed. THere is also the TA adjustments but again only in relation to radio volume.

You can't turn off the speed related volume adjustment, but you can turn it down to the lowest setting of 1. It's in the hidden service menu. To access it do this:

E85 (Z4) with Navigation system
CID radio
1. Turn the radio on.
2. Press the 'SEL' button immediately and hold for at least 8 seconds. (service menu will then pop up)
3. Scroll through functions using the '+' and '-' keys or the station search buttons "< >".
4. Switch off the radio to exit the service mode.

THANKS...thats what i could access in my prevs,non-nav eqpd z4,via the wee note/tone symbol button,so i was trying the same with the "tone" button on my current one(as it doesnt have the note symbol button.

Will try that 2mrw after work, and turn it down to 1,which i found ok.
Cheers, "antannahead" for the info
