Samsung 55" D8000 LED 3D Smart TV + Bose surround.

Bought this exact model / size the end of last year - absolutely gorgeous TV, although the 2D to 3D scaling is a tad naff

Why buy a tv for the way it looks and not the picture quality???

Re-read... I'm on about the 2D to 3D scaler feature which is crap - not the general picture quality...

PS have you ever read the debates between the roadster and coupe? Most of it boils down to looks :)

Was nothing to do with the 3d conversion on it (there all naff at it tbh) I know the full spec of the tv because I've been selling it for the past year, just think the pan VT30 has the best picture, motion and black levels.
As soon as go above 40" on an led they suffer from really bad edge bleeding, just waiting to see this years OLED tv's which should fix that
I don't deny it not a great looking set with some cool features I just have a bit of a pet hate for samsungs lol have seen sooooo many faulty ones come back including the D7000 and D8000, and it made me laugh there was no spec difference between the D7 and D8 range but yet a big price difference

Right rant over stepping out of work mode now :-)

It appears your debating with yourself :) I just commented that I did not rate the 2D scaler feature on my TV, nothing more.

Having a TV in the bedroom :o

If Mrs Roofless would let me live a breathe afterwards i'd take the chainsaw to our TV and then go for a nice long drive :)

i feel quite ashamed in comparison with my tiny 40" series 8 Samsung... with all the online wonders it offers.

But then my KEF 5.1 audio setup cost twice as much as my telly.

just a minute. I will have a look in What Hi-Fi
I'm sure I could quote something expensive I don't have

Samsung 47" LCD + Rectilinear III "highboys" + home made center channel.

Rectilinear was a US speaker manufacturer. They went bust somewhere in the late 1970's.

There is a wikipedia entry

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rectilinear_Research_Corporation

I only got 28" for TV - Panasonic.

For sounds I got Tannoy Reveal studio monitors and a Samson Resolve Sudio Sub. Awesome sound....
