I am a large midwest fat guy. 6 foot 1, but my concern is width and knee room.. i own a 95 bmw 325i convert. And I fit in that ok.. but would not want a car any smaller.. is the z4 about the same as my 95 325...? Or is the z4 smaller. I am in the bmw club but with covid it seems nobody will let folks sit in a car.

Height shouldn't be an issue, plenty of bigger guys than 6'1 driving zeds, the cabin is on the narrow though so you do need to sit in one ideally if you have worries..msport seats wrap around you somewhat so you may want to avoid those and try the flatter sport seats though to be fair not many 04 models will have sport seats anyway as they were an option that not many people seemed to tick off at the time.. I’m of a similar height and build. I know it’s not an E85 but the E89 was “snug” for me and my understanding is that the E89 has a smaller cabin again.
I think one of these situations where you’re going to have to sit in one or two with different sear options and see how it feels.
