I am a large midwest fat guy. 6 foot 1, but my concern is width and knee room.. i own a 95 bmw 325i convert. And I fit in that ok.. but would not want a car any smaller.. is the z4 about the same as my 95 325...? Or is the z4 smaller. I am in the bmw club but with covid it seems nobody will let folks sit in a car.

I'm 6'2.75" 150lb and fit fine. I do tend to sit a bit closer to the wheel than one would think for my height, but by no means feel crammed. I really enjoy the 2007 z4 roadster. I had a 325, and also currently have a 550. The Z is a great toy, and my wife uses it as her daily driver for a relatively short commute.

I'm 6'2" and 190lb and my 2003 is perfectly comfortable with seat well back and dropped down some way. Sport style seats might be snug if you are very broad but I find the standard seats fine. The 325i will be pretty similar dimensions but sat up higher.

I'm around 5'10"/11" and am a big chunker and have the seat all the way back and as low as it will go and find I have plenty of head room and about the right amount of leg room without my knee's knocking anything. Your 325i is way more spacious and easier to access but out of all the sports cars I've owned I feel the Z4M has been one of the better to access.

You'll have absolutely no problem with non-sport and manual adjustment seats, I can't speak for the other types.

Thanks. I need to find one to sit in and get the in seat feel of it. I assume the 3.0 is more fun than the 2.5 like in my 95 bmw 325i

My budget would be 8 to maybe 14 k. Prefer on the cheaper end but my goal is to buy and own 2 manual sports cars to own for a while. Pristine is not important. One car might become a track education or maybe autocross car.
The e46 M3 and ZHP 's have become so expensive. I wanted a 996 porsche 911 but they went from 16k to 26 / 28k in 18 months.

I wouldn't now buy the 2.5, it's not actually bad but has to be worked harder than I like.

P.S. I recommend the keto diet, have lost 7kg pretty effortlessly over a couple of months

That's nothing! I joined the Z4 forum and have lots hundreds of pounds!

Also I would say I find the half-leather regular seats (with a kind of web mesh for the base and back) are really comfortable as the mesh perfectly adjusts to the contours of the body. Also, at least for the UK climate as a daily driver, I find the in-seat heating option most excellent and would not be without it, definitely a deal-breaker for me if not present (just look for the the far-left and far-right three-stage illuminated buttons on the console).

Drifting off topic slightly but it's worth pointing out that the facelift 2.5 you have is probably the lower-powered 175bhp 2.5i model which effectively replaced the old M54 2.2, the other facelift model being 2.5Si had 215bhp. The pre-facelift 2.5i (M54) was rated at 194bhp, it can be confusing for potential buyers.

Another big guy here I'm 6ft 4ins and 210ibs. I was over 240 ibs when I bought the Z4. Fitting in has never been the slightest issue for me. :D

Well said!

6'3" here and no issues length-wise, doubt seat variants would have much impact, can only be a cm or two in it.
