My son sold his Mk5 Gti on Thurs leaving him free to collect a Golf legend today :driving: only 500 ever sold in UK
the current owner has lavished thousands on it including 2 sport cats & Milltek exhaust that produces a noise best described as a pack of howling bloodhounds in a bad mood that haven't been fed for a week when you blip the throttle
Comes with H& R springs , heated leather seats that are as good to look at as sit in +Xenon's , cruise , sunroof + 19inch OZ alloys

Nice, how much has he forked out for cover Andy?

22 yrs old / 3 yrs NCB / His 2005 2.0 GTi was £700 Fcomp . The R32 cost him £840 Fcomp :? seemed ok to me pro rata . capable of over 150mph so premium has to reflect that i guess

There was a time back in the the hot hatch days of the 80's he would have paid nearly 3 times that, that's IF he could find a company that would offer cover :o

So the figure he's actually paying for the R32 is very good

That's a fabulous looking Golf

Great to get to such a model at 22 - congratulations!

:driving:

Thanks Paul , looking back i think i can see a pattern emerging that may have been influenced by his upbringing
since we gifted him a £1200 Lupo 999cc at 17 he has had 2 Polo's (1 diesel & 1 Gti ) he's had 2 previous Golf.s ( 1 a Gti Anniversary Mk4 & a Mk5 Gti) leading him to his current car plus after the first Polo he had a minor spell with a 1/8 SRi Corsa that was a nice car for a while  until he slammed it on coilovers & removed most of the exhaust which resulted in frequent visits from our community policewoman :D
What i'm not sure he has realised is each time he switched he added a few hundred pounds to upgraded so is now into a £5k car that he has purchased with his own money & no finance :? so he has effectively saved up whilst exploring the vast depths of VW

That's really nice, he's going to have some serious fun in that.

Need to get him a nice house with a Garage to put it in now.

After 3 years driving I nearly got one in 2004 when i owned a mk4 1.8T gti - my first car (insurance ranged between £3k to 2.5k!!)

Got a celica instead... But still adore the mk4 and R32.... Shame the dropped the V6 now over the turbo 4.

Get a miltek and sports cat on your TT it will sound just as good

Great looking car the R32... A subtle beast..

Surely it's time for you to up your game now Andy...?

Thats a very nice bit of kit im amazed his insurance is that cheep good luck with the motor hope he has plenty of trouble free motoring

£5,000 for an R32 Golf!, it just goes to show you the range & quality of cars out there. I can't remember a time where there was such a diverse range of quality vehicles available for a relatively modest outlay :)

Long may it continue
