I think I'd rather move somewhere safer than turn the house into Fort Knox

it can happen anywhere, i love my home, i love my area and i love my neighbours, F moving....

hell i may move and this happen again.... theirs no such thing as move somehwere safer.... im constantly swapping and changing company cars all the time, theirs always a nice car outside my house.... lesson learned....

1500quid shed on the drive from now on.... simple, its not just the house thats going to get a makeover, its life in general.....

i just cant wait to pack up my boy and go back to our house.. :-)

Sounds like a miserable task.
At least it's due in five weeks, not overdue by five weeks, otherwise you'd be in serious trouble...

definitely.... lol..... that would be JUST my luck!!

Just also remember to provide easy egress for example should there be a fire. If you put strengthened window glass in make sure the window can't be locked or there is a break glass so you could get out if needed.

Hope that is helpful

Not sure I understand the point of such doors, unless you plan on grilles on every window or similar security at every access point?

If it gives you peace of mind then for sure.

every access point in the house is going to be changed and secured.... EVERY point.... im not going to do have a front door thats like fort knox then leave crappy double glazing in place.... im doing the full works.... everywhere, its long over due, end of the day i just want to go home, im happy to, to be honest but cant take my son back to the house until i feel hes properly secure....

im not doing it to for anyone else but him.... id much rather leave as is and buy some car tuning bits tbh... but my boy comes first... no exceptions.

Makes sense if you plan to do the lot. Just make sure you can get out real quick if needed. I'll not discuss details here but suffice to say with high security locked doors and windows all around Family still needs to be able to get out quick in the event of a fire.
Edit - see MrFish just posted similar comment. Apols for duplicate

As I said earlier, you need the emergency services to be able to get in too, so look into the police having a key if that's possible

All good points, glad you are in a place and with people you like. Maybe going a little more low profile is the way forward

i will try, dont forget my phone and camera were stolen :-( ill use my moms phone...

.... ive unpacked my angle grinder.... tomorrow im going to beat the crap out of this door, im only allowed to attack it for 1 hr however.... so im assembling tools right now... lol....

my moms coming down for the show....

looking at a rover 75 estate. diesel. 03 plate.. 1500 smackers..

Also, you should scan the auctions for parts of your other cars -- thieves frequently cut them to pieces in a 'safe' garage and sell off the parts (e.g. engine, gearbox, suspension, body parts).

Sounds like a fascinating scenario with the door, however bear in mind that it may take longer than an hour for the plod to turn up unless you tell them that the bad men have just left...

How an earth did they manage to steal all this stuff, 2 cars, car parts, and valuables without your neighbours noticing or calling the police. No neighbourhood watch scheme I presume.

To be honest the whole thread reads very odd

God knows what your insurance claims department will think, especially what with the other car that you had stolen by the AA truck some months back

Beedub,

Still not got your details via PM to pass on to my friend in CID like you requested. I spoke to him at the weekend, but he hadn't heard anything about this, he was back on on Saturday.

im just saying it as is it really... i can only say what happened,.... nothing at all reads odd imo.... its just been a run of bad luck :-) i can assure you what happened to me was very very real and its something i will not forget for a long time.... i often find myself drifting into though about what happened ... without doubt the fear i had for my sons safety was unparralelled.... very very very scary.....

to say the thread reads odd...... im saying what happened to keep everybody aware of whats happening out their so before you veer this thread into the "odd" realm id prefur you to just keep your thoughts to yourself.... if anybody doubts or feels what ive said may read "odd" just dont comment.... i can only say what happened is something i will never forget, things like my sons birth pictures on my laptop..... simply irriplaceable....

dont insult me by downgrading this to odd....... just trying to warn the community whats happened and to not do some of the things ive done.

yeah im aware i didnt pass on my details, i did that for a reason, ive had a couple of pms telling me people can help and to pass on the Crime number/ my details, as you can imagine im very wary of passing details to people that i have no idea who they are....

if you CID mate is in the birmingham north police station, he/she will know this case, ive spoke to Cid today and they have some further developments, ill keep any further info under my hat i think, especially after some of the recent comments....

cut and dry.... be careful people.... thats all i wanted to say...

3-4 people, late night busy road.... no overlooking houses at all, very easily to be honest where i live... very easily.... infact they could have been at the house for ALOT longer easily and still i would have been left with these people, that was the scary bit.... i was praying for them to go and go fast.

my house is surrounded by elderly people and open fields directly in front....

like i say the tone of the comments are changing ... so ill just say me and baby are safe, all things that were taken and replaceable apart from some of the photo's that mean the world to me, other than that, be very careful what your all doing...... be very careful.

edit, ive asked this thread be locked, anyone genuinely interested in developents drop me a pm and ill happily update you :-) like i say keep the door locked at night, keep car list off your sig, look after your family, and be safe...... the internet is a weapon in the wrong hands ;-)
most of all keep all VRN off your pics, blank them out, most of all, look after your loved ones and love life.... i feel like ive got a chance all over again, im smiling and feel very much ALIVE :-)

thanks for the Pms.......
